Borrowing from automobile manufacturers the use of titanium, a material combining resistance, sturdiness and lightness, the watchmakers in Le Brassus have created an exceptional timekeeper belonging to the prestigious Royal Oak Offshore collection, dedicated to extreme sports.
Issued in a limited edition of 150,the new Royal Oak Offshore chronograph was presented to the Brazilian press as well as to friends of Rubens Barrichello and Audemars Piguet, at a press conference held in São Paolo on November 17th 2005.In the course of this event naturally attended by the charismatic Formula 1 racing driver, Georges-Henri Meylan, CEO of Audemars Piguet, expressed particular pride in unveiling this watch: ¿In a world where the pursuit of speed is a constant objective, we naturally chose to design a chronograph in honour of Rubens, who is a brand ambassador.
Characterised by its restrained elegance, this model is subtly lit up by the colours of the Brazilian flag. It features three counters and carries Rubens¿ logo at 6 o¿clock. The bright red direct-drive seconds hand and counter hands are reminiscent of rev counters and assert the sporting nature of this watch.
