Kaufberatung Seiko Spring Drive vs. Automatik

Hallo liebe Uhrenfreunde,

ich brauche Eure Hilfe. Ich habe mir folgende Uhren ausgesucht, kann mich aber leider nicht entscheiden, welche die bessere ist:

Hat jemand von Euch schon Erfahrungen mit einer Spring Drive gemacht? Würdet ihr eine Spring Drive der Automatik vorziehen?

Ist die "Lebensdauer" einer Automatik länger?

I hope that You will allow me to answer in English as my German writing is a bit slow ...

The Springdrive technology is very innovative and it has alot of advantages, f.i. great precision, long power reserve and gliding seconds hand. On the other hand, the big disadvantage of the Springdrive technology is that it is very advanced, so it is back to Japan for service In time, I guess that some European watchmakers will be trained to handle the movements, but as far as I know of, this is not yet the case.

I know that the SBDX001 is a JDM and that it is recommended by Seiko that it is also returned to Japan for service. The movement is great, and it is a slimmed down 9S55 Grand Seiko movement. Only difference between the two movements is that the GS movement is decorated and adjusted to temperature and in 6 positions. The 8L35 in the Marinemaster is only adjusted in two positions and not for temperature. As the SBDX001 has an automatic movement, which is basically build in the same way as many other automatics with small differences, it is actually possible to have it serviced by a very competent watchmaker in Your home country. I had all my gaskets changed and gotten a regulation to the movement when I sent my MM in for a look-over at my Seiko AD and watchmaker here in Denmark. No problems at all, and the movement looked brand sparkeling new, and was not in need of a service yet My MM is 6 years old, and I never had any trouble with it, so they are not only well built on the outside, they are also made to serve You for a great number of years to come without needing movement service every 5 years

Go for the MM - it is the rational choice. But if You prefere any of the other watches, they will perform great too

They are sometimes for sale on different forums - also here, on Uhr-forum.de

If You want a brand new one, I would source one from "one of the big 3" in Japan: Chino Watch (Seiko Select Shop so true worldwide guarantee), Higuchi or Seiya.

I can reccommend Chino, Higuchi and Seiya from personal experience, but there will of course be other good guys out there.

Ich habe noch nie bei chrono24 gekauft, aber evtl. gibt es da Möglichkeiten, mehr über den Anbieter herauszufinden.

Eine weitere Adresse für eine neue MM wäre z.B.:

Die Professional 600 fehlt aber leider z.Zt. im Katalog - die Preise sind nur geringfügig über denen bei Rakuten und es handelt sich um einen seriösen Händler. Meine Flightmaster war per UPS Express inkl. Zollformalitäten für 55$ Aufpreis(+Zoll und Steuern natürlich) innerhalb von 60h bei mir.

Der Vorteil des Springdrives neben der super Ganggenauigkeit wäre, daß es sich zudem um eine "echte" GMT-Uhr handelt, d.h. man den Stundenzeiger der aktuellen Zeitverschiebung anpassen kann ohne die genaue Zeit zu verlieren und der 24h-Zeiger weiter die Heimatzeit anzeigt.

Der größte Nachteil ist in der Tat, dass die Uhr im Falle eines Falles für einen richtigen Service bzw. Revi nach Japan muß und sich daran wohl so schnell nichts ändern wird.
Dichtungen kann aber natürlich auch ein Uhrmacher vor Ort wechseln und ein Seiko Konzi wird die Uhr natürlich über Seiko Deutschland auch ohne exorbitante Kosten nach Japan und zurück bekommen.

Wenn Du genaures wissen willst würde ich mal eine Anfrage an einen der Grand Seiko Konzis (z.B. Juwelier Lorenz in Berlin) stellen, die ja auch mit Springdrive laufen.

Meine Auskunft von Lorenz ist, dass sie Service für GS bzw. Prospex anbieten und die Uhr für die Revi über Seiko Deutschland nach Japan geht.

Die MM 600 ist übrigens die preiswerteste Uhr mit Springdrive(so ca. 3.500-3.900 € inkl. aller Gebühren je nach Wechselkurs) und sie ist aus Titan, was bei einer solchen Uhr einen spürbaren Gewichtsvorteil bringt.
